You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.'

You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

Crocheting Memories

If anyone had told me when I retired 18 months ago that I would be "busier" not working than I was when I was working, I am sure I would have disagreed.  I would have been wrong. Such is life. I am busier but in a much different way now, but busy "non the less". It has always been my desire to replicate the sweet crocheted dresses my grandmother made for me and my sisters. I wish now that I had asked her about her creations; I was young then and uninterested.  I have searched through vintage patterns and have come close.  Recently I discovered a pattern on Etsy that I loved by olgascrochetfrenzy.
Original design by Olgascrochetfrenzy
It's not exactly like the one my sister wore 60 years ago but close.
Crocheting, for me, always brings back memories of my grandmother and so together, in a way,  we were able to "finally finish" another project.
I don't know yet who will be the recipient of this little treasure but I do know it will be given with the love and joy I felt while making it it.
